This is how we now know exactly how much Sony is spending on its showpiece PlayStation 5 games (previously we only had an estimate from ex-PlayStation boss Shawn Layden, which turned out to be roughly accurate). The documents were quickly removed from public view, but not before journalists had had a field day with them. Some poor clerk with a black marker did a poor job redacting some of the documents involved in the case, meaning that they were easily legible from the court’s official scans. Premium members can access most, though not all, of these titles now, so perhaps Sony wants to incentivize standard PS Plus subscribers to upgrade. Last year, Sony added two premium PlayStation Plus Subscription tiers that give those members access to a much larger (and more regularly updated) library of games across multiple generations of PlayStation.
The PS Plus Collection currently consists of the following titles: In a way, it served as a mini-version of Xbox's Game Pass, albeit only featuring last-gen titles. The collection has remained largely the same since 2020, with a couple of titles joining the roster and only Persona 5 being removed from the original line-up last year.
The PlayStation Plus Collection launched alongside the PS5 as an added bonus to those owners.
